iPhone & iPad
- Open the app in your browser: Safari, Chrome, whichever you use.
- Tap the Share button: the box with the arrow pointing up.
In Safari it's in the bar at the bottom. In Chrome and most other browsers it's near the address bar at the top. On iPad, look top right.
- Scroll down the share menu and tap "Add to Home Screen."
It's in the list of text options, below the row of app icons. If you don't see it, scroll further. It's there.
- Tap "Add" in the top corner. You can rename it first if you like.
Done. The icon is on your home screen with the rest of your apps. Tap it and the app opens full-screen, no browser bars. Deleting it works like any app: press and hold, then Remove.
Android · Chrome (Pixel, Motorola, OnePlus & most others)
- Open the app in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right of the screen.
- Tap "Add to Home screen."
On newer versions of Chrome it may say "Install app" or "Install" instead, same thing, tap it.
- Confirm with "Add" (or "Install"). Some phones let you drag the icon where you want it; otherwise it lands on your home screen automatically.
The icon now sits with your other apps and opens full-screen. To remove it, press and hold the icon and drag it to Remove, same as any app.
Samsung Galaxy · Samsung Internet
- Open the app in the Samsung Internet browser.
That's the default browser on Galaxy phones. If you use Chrome on your Samsung instead, follow the Android steps. They work the same.
- Tap the menu button: three lines at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap "Add page to."
- Choose "Home screen," then confirm with Add.
The icon appears on your home screen and opens like a normal app. Press and hold to remove it whenever you want.
Fire tablets · Xiaomi · Huawei · Firefox · Edge · anything with a browser
- Open the app in whatever browser the device has.
- Open the browser's menu.
Usually three dots or three lines, in a top or bottom corner. On some devices it's a share icon instead: the box with the arrow.
- Look for "Add to Home screen," "Install," or "Add page to."
Every browser words it a little differently, but it's almost always one of those three, in the menu or one level deep.
- Confirm. The icon lands on your home screen.
That's the universal pattern: menu → something that says Add or Install. If you truly can't find it, a bookmark works too: the app just opens with browser bars around it instead of full-screen.
